Why are there so many countries is south america? and what are their differences

Why are there so many countries is south america? and what are their differences?
I can understand why Brazil was it's own country because it being a Portuguese colony and not a Spanish one. But why didn't the Spanish countries of South America join together more? I know they have their differences now but hey couldn't have had many differences when they were gaining independence. Spanish Speaking: Argentina Bolivar Chile Columbia Ecuador Paraguay Peru Uruguay Venezuela Portuguese: Brazil Why didn't Gran Columbia work? and why are there so many spanish speaking countries in south america group together more?

Have you ever had a look at a recent map of Europe. We were always divided in many different countries but lately it has almost become impossible to keep up. South America is a big continent and unlike the U.S.it has always been divided through differences in the population. It was easier for a newly settled country like the U.S. to make a Confederation, the indigenous inhabitants were a small minority in comparison to the settlers, who might have been of different origin but had the same final goal.

language alone can NOT be a reason two countries should have been one. What about the US and Canada then??

I suggest this Website and Agency; http://www.galaxy.joystar.com Contact Email: galaxytravel@verizon.net
4 :
This is not a travel agency in US but they cater for people in the US. It's Lima Tours, the best in all Peru and they have a web site: www.limatours.com.pe You'll find interesting tours and discount offers in their website. They have organised millions of tours into Peru from the US. About the visa, it depends on your country of origin (where's your passport from). There is no visa for Americans but if you are in the US with a work visa, it depends on your nationality. I would play it safe and contact the Peruvian consulate in the city where you live in the US and ask them according to your nationality. Typical roundfare in January? LA - Lima like 500 $. It's high season in Peru, low season in the States, I would check travelocity, expedia, orbitz, Lanchile.com, aa.com (american airlines) as everyday there are tons of sales and discount airfares. LanChile has a direct flight from LA to Lima every day.
5 :
http://www.perujungle.com http://www.peruandes.com r/t air from California in January should be $600 check with airline or with the Peru consulate in LA to see what the entrance requirements are

What do you do when checking a backpack at the airport?
I am traveling to Peru, and am using a hiking backpack..I need to check it as luggage at the airport, but I'm worried about all the straps and things getting caught. I've heard of people just using clear garbage bags to put the bag in. Does that work and is it accepted at airports? thanks

Should I quit my job and study abroad, or play the safe route

Should I quit my job and study abroad, or play the safe route?
I work full time as a nurse, and I like my shift. I want to study abroad in Peru for 4-6 weeks, studying Spanish and volunteering. I cannot take more than 2 weeks off and would probably have to quit my job. I get married next year, and this is probably my last opportunity. I am worried though, that I will hate whatever job I have when I return, considering the market, even in health care- hospitals are not hiring.
Studying Abroad - 2 Answers

I guess it really depends on whether or not you'll regret it later if you do not take the opportunity to study abroad. You could try discussing this with your employer to see if they'll give you a leave of absence or something so that you could return to your job when you get back. Strengthening your Spanish skills is certainly a positive thing, and they might go for it if you sell this as a skill-building venture.
2 :
Nurses are in demand right now ... talk to your HR person about a 60 day leave without pay. You might be able to include some vacation pay into the equation as well .. like 2 weeks vacation and 45 days of leave. Remember to ask for slightly more time than you need to account for preparation and post-trip issues. Have fun.

program for foreigners in latin american to teach language in america

program for foreigners in latin american to teach language in america?
I heard up until recently maybe a year ago or so there was a program that maybe no longer exists for countries like brazil, columbia, peru and more where people can do the teaching in different schools and had to be under thirty. Have you heard of this? What is it called? Does it exist anymore? How does it work?

I haven't heard of such a program, but I don't think one is needed. I have taught school in Ecuador and Bolivia and am over 30. All you need is to get a job with a school who will get you a special visa for teachers. Most countries have that type of a visa only good as long as you are working at the school that contracted you. There is no restriction as to how old you are or what your credentials are...that depends on the school itself.

haha, i asure u it wont be much. maybe less than $2000 US DOLLARS
2 :
16,680 Peruvian Nuevo Sol = $5,777.48 US Dollar As of Saturday, August 16, 2008 1 US Dollar = 2.99565 Peruvian Nuevo Sol 1 Peruvian Nuevo Sol (PEN) = 0.33382 US Dollar (USD)
3 :
you can always get current figures for any currency conversion at www.xe.com
4 :
Due to the strength of the dollar rising a little lately $1.00 US is about S2.9...about 3 to one. Are the Nuevo Soles or old soles? Old ones are recyclable as paper. You say you have 16,680 worth. If it is 16,680 nuevo soles...it is approximately $6000.00. Best place to transfer it....take a trip to Peru and enjoy your self. Go find a Lan Peru airlines. enjoy
5 :
Why don't you ask someone whose got some money. They can charge you a fee that will compensate them for the time they need to exchange it into US$. You'll get less US$ but you won't have to wait.
6 :
hmmm tough one! you can try currency exchange on google. As for where to change it, i think the bank is the safest place. there are tons of banks in miraflores, maybe you should try one of those.

Where can I find the cheapest tickets for Multi Destination Flights

Where can I find the cheapest tickets for Multi Destination Flights?
Kayak won't give me what I need, Expedia gives me the cheapest so far, and going to the airlines websites won't work, it's more expensive. Orbitz & Travelocity is more expensive. Same with most other big ones. Looking under $1400 CAD, which I think is about $1200 USD or lower. Flight detail: Montreal, Quebec to Cuzco, Peru. Cuzco to Santiago, Chile, and Santiago back to Montreal. All in August. I don't mind multiple carriers. Any suggestions?

you can go to http://www.nadzrulsystem.com/travelivin/airfare.html to search for cheapest tickets; and destinations where you wanna go... great stuff
4 :
Try www.cheapescapade.com. Sometimes they will offer you big discounts. I recently found a ticket from SFO-MNL-HKG-ICN-SFO for only $2,000.00. Usually it cost $3000+ but they had a special. I checked it again a few days later to book it then it was gone. So try that website and if you find it significantly cheaper than other sites book it because it doesn't last long. You can also try to one way the tickets. Sometimes its cheaper but sometimes its way more expensive. Try different alternates.
5 :
The cheapest airline flying from North America to Peru is Taca. I'd recommend to take a tour once you are in Peru since you might find better deals that you wouldn't have been able to find from your country. Another airline that may offer a pretty decent deal is Lan Peru or Lan Chile (same owners).

Oh, that's easy... you dont. Installing the Mac Operating System on anything but a Mac is illegal, and forbidden by Apple.

It is possible to install mac Osx on PC. If you look around "illegal stuff" forums, I'm sure they have it. I Know they have it ;) Have a look in Google.
3 :
It's illegal man. You should abide by the rules of Apple. I will report you to Yahoo the next time you post a question like this one. Rules and laws are there for the sole reason of being followed.

Easy question. You don't! I saw someone install it but it wouldn't boot because there are no MAC drivers for PC hardware. Unless you do some hacks. Which like everyone else said is highly illegal.
