my uncle peru bought one and he doesnt know if it work . i'm planning to buy one . but i dont know if it will work here in San Jose, California. if anyone could tell me, that will be GREAT !

Yes, it will work under some conditions. The phone has to be unlocked. Unlocked meaning you can enter a chip (SIM card) from any other country and it would work. You can easily take it to a swapmeet or something similar in San Jose and have them unlock it, it won't cost anything over $25 to do that. You then have to get a phone plan (under Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile, ect) insert that chip into your phone. You can also get a pre-paid service which includes a chip. Only if the phone is unblocked only. Cell phone providers usually block the phones so that only a chip from their own company will work (from Peru it might be Nextel, Claro or Telefonica). I know some people can unblock your cellphone for $20 or $25 dollars on craigslist.org Good luck
