After marriage, can i still remain a dependent of my parents and use their health insurance

After marriage, can i still remain a dependent of my parents and use their health insurance?
My Peruvian fiance and I are thinking about getting married (only civil ceremony) now, in order to be able to have a religious ceremony in Peru next year and start working on getting his visa to the U.S. My only concern is that, if im legally married, I wont be able to be my parents dependent any more, and therefore loose my health insurance. If there is no way to get around that, we will have to wait to get married because Im 21 and a college student... and obviously need health insurance...

Your parents would have to check with their insurance company or with the HR representative at their employer to see whether or not you can still be covered. I doubt if you can, but it can't hurt to check. You may be able to get affordable health insurance through your college. That's another thing that it can't hurt to call and ask.

No. Once you're married you're no longer a dependent. And getting coverage from your college is ridiculous advice. It's usually very expensive and horrible coverage.
3 :
No you cannot remain on your parents policy once you are married. At your age an individual policy will be affordable in most states. Call a local agent for assistance. The policies available depend on where you live, and an experienced agent can narrow down your options to one that best fits your needs in just a few minutes. Avoid the online shopping, there is just simply too much information, and too many scams to watch out for. Don http://mtnhealthinsurance.com

Nope!

If you are in college, you may want to check out health insurance programs that are written through your school. United Healthcare has a plan available at many US schools. These student injury and illness plans provide wide ranging coverage and are designed to be affordable for college students. To check if your school is participating, go to www.UHCSR.com and enter your school name in the search box. You might also be interested in joining the American College Student Association (ACSA), a national organization for college students. They have lots of member benefits, including student health insurance. Their membership fee is affordable.

Sorry, you're out of luck; once you marry, you are no longer considered to be a dependent of your parents for insurance purposes.

Short and sweet. You get married and you will lose your insurance.

Please help me!! What dangers in Peru will I face

Please help me!! What dangers in Peru will I face?
I'm going to Peru this summer, if everything works out right. I am a minor, and I've never flown a plane before. I will be comming down from California. I know the very basics of Spanish, I've done 2 years and I'm redoing the first now because my new school only has spanish 1 and I figured that taking the course over again was better than taking no spanish at all. I will be with my girlfriend's family, I've never met them before but I've heard very much about them, as they have of me. She will not be able to be there with me. What are the dangers in Peru that I will be facing? Are there any particular laws that I have to be aware of? Please please help me... Btw, I will be in Lima

ive been, so i know some of the things to worry about...there are some parasites specific to that area that you might catch (although highly unlikely), and sicknesses also. the culture is not completely the opposite so i wouldnt worry about laws that you would break, unless you are planning to drive. basically just use your common sense and have fun :)

First-Be aware of taxis in the airport who will often charge way too much to take you to your destination. Second-the cheaper taxis are out on Elmer Faucett street in front of the airport terminal, but these sometimes will assault and rob you if you do not sem familiar with Lima, You must negotiate the fare to be paid before you get into the taxi. You never ask them how much as they will rip you off big time, Find out from someone in the airport how much the fare should be and then act like you know what you are doing when you get into the taxi. Beyond that there are lots of pick-pockets in Lima, so be careful with your money. Do not trust people who are too friendly with you, as they may be about to assault you. Many sections of Lima are safe during the day, but at Night they are very dangerous especially for Gringos. Be very careful on buses, and do not wear expensive watches etc, as they will attract the wrong kind of attention from thieves. Do not try to change money in the streets as often you will be given fake currency. Always have a document as the police can ask you for them at any time. In general be careful and have a good time. GOd bless.

Lima is generally OK, but stay away from the bad neighborhoods and the slum areas. I'm sure your girlfriend's family will tell you where not to go and what not to do. Areas such as Miraflores are fine รข€“ just don't wander around too much late at night. For some guidelines and tips for staying safe in Peru have a look at the article below.

I would think that it would up to your company. I know other large chains allow you to transfer if your company feels you will be an asset there.

If she uses her tourist visa to come here to work, she will be breaking the law. She should contact her "program of interchange" for information.

she probably needs a H1B or J1, depending on the program. Tell her that if she uses her tourist visa she will not be able to get paid as she is not absolutely not allowed to work on a tourist visa. If she tells honestly why she is entering the country, they are probably not even let her into the country but send her right back, particularly if the program is funded by government money. If the program is funded by private money and she only gets free food and lodging and no financial compensation she might get in with a tourist visa, but it's risky. Have her contact the program exchange and get them moving.
