What should I do about this unfair situation

What should I do about this unfair situation?
hi all, I live in Lima, Peru and I work here as Remote technician for an American company. here is the problem.. The ones that answers the phone talks to people that call from the states to get their computer repair. So they connect them to me and I repair their computer. Here is what's so unfair. They make $5 per connection and I do the work and I only make 500 a month and they pail me up with a lot of connections at once! Well, because I work from Peru they had me to open a checking account in the States that charges me 10 per month for not having the minimum required amount of $500 (what a joke). I hear the sales people talking all the time about their pay and how they going to buy cars and how they already paid things off, etc etc. and me I have to walk to work, skip meals and wear the same cloths because I can't afford anything like they can. I know many of you are going to suggest that I work in sales, well I've tried that and they won't let me for they need technicians. I've tried looking for another job, that's not easy without legal papers which brings up another topic. My job is suppose to be getting them for me because I'm paying 200 per month to pay it off now and still don't have anything yet. This sucks!! I only want serious answers please and another thing, please don't recommend returning to the States for that's whole other issue. I put this in religion and spirituality because I would like advice from Christians because I'm dealing with a lot of jealousy and hatred that is not of God.

Looks like your in a tough unfair situation. I wont try and suggest anything because Im not gonna pretend to know the job market or anything else about Lima, Peru. What I will tell you is that a "IT" guy is an invaluable resource to many companies. Your services as a technician may be bring you better compensation if you worked for a private company. The IT guy where I work makes a handsome salary. The company I work for has hundreds of computers and networks that are constantly crashing so he stays busy. Try and see if any private companies are looking for this type of service.

OK Here's food for thought: Matt. 20:1-16. You make a contract, you keep it. Don't compare your contract to someone else. Solution: Renegotiate. Eph. 6:5-9. While you are not a slave, the general ideas apply. Make sure you do the right thing. Take or create an opportunity to be Christ to your co-workers in this situation.

You are being used and getting ripped off; why is this hard for you to understand?

When the great ocean liner Titanic sank in 1912, it was rumored to have gone down with a fortune in jewels and gold. That longlasting myth was dispelled, however, by the discovery of the ship's manifest, which showed that the ship was carrying raw feathers, linen, straw, hatter's fur, tissue, auto parts, leather, rabbit hair, elastics, hair nets, and refrigerator equipment. There is another persistent rumor about riches. It is widely believed that a wealthy person should be honored and valued, even though he may be ungodly. On the other hand, a godly, self-disciplined person is considered by some to be of little worth if he is not wealthy. David, the author of Psalm 37, cautioned the poor and needy not to be envious of the rich and prosperous. In time, the cargo manifest of the ungodly will be uncovered, revealing that their lives contain nothing of enduring value. This life is only the beginning of an everlasting existance. So don't look longingly at the ungodly and their riches. They have no lasting teasures. Instead, be like those who wait with patience for their eternal God no matter what their economic situation may be. They alone know where to find real treasure. Mark 8:36--What will profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? It's better to be poor and walk by faith, than to be rich and walk by sight.

Any other sites to transfer funds online like PayPal?
Does anyone know of any site out there that can transfer money like PayPal, providing only email, that will work for my client in the US and my bank in Peru. - PayPal works with the US but not completely with Peru, you can only upload money and make purchases online but not get transfers from the US. - Moneybookers works with Peru but not with the US. - Xoom works with both but I think I would need to share my banking info, which I don't wanna do, to get paid. *I don't need the online bank account to be under a business name I'm an independent contractor working under my name. Can someone help me please!!! I looked all over the internet with no luck.

You can certainly take anything you want in a flight, even a TV. You don't tell us where you live now, For example, if you live in the US which uses NTSC, the TV will NOT work in Peru. But if you live in Brazil, then most likely it will work.

You might check with Avianca (colombia) and LAN (peru and others). LACSA also is the CR airline. Hmmm.....guess they are now TACA. Long time no use. Check middle of the week flights (wednesday/thursday). I just booked with Avianca to Lima and one and two day differences on flight dates dropped price $200. Check LAN first, they have an online sliding date which gives prices for different dates. My guess is other airlines follow suit. Hope this will help you. Enjoy your trip.

Questions about Peru and Lima in south america?
In the summer, I am going to south America for a school program called global explorers. There is only a few people going. We are visiting Lima, exploring the rain forest, and going to some villiages to do community work for their schools. I'm really excited. My questions are 1. Have you been to south America? And if u have, what was it like? 2. I heard that u trade in some places? Is it true, and what kinds of things should I trade? 3. Is there anything I should know?

Hi ,i 've spent two months in Peru and you're right to be exited about your trip. That country is just incredible.Nice people ,nice place and the best food of all latin america.I've mostly spent these two months in lima but i 've also been living in some really poor and isolated areas and i can assure that there is not such thing as trade in theses areas.(or only if you want it?)Don't worry about change .You can easily find somewhere to change your money in every big city.(Cuzco,Nazca,Juliaca,Lima....basically everywhere) Peruvian people are quite honest, most of the time they won't try to charge you more if you attend to buy something (frequently no price tag even in shops) but don't trust them on timing. If you ask them to do something for next week, basically it 'll be ready for next month.a bit exaggerated but so true. Be careful with water, don't buy it in the streets and don't forget to vaccinate before going. I hope it helps you. Please be indulgent with my english as I'm not totally a fluent speaker.:)

Did volunteer work - got too attached to kids

Did volunteer work - got too attached to kids?
Just last week, I volunteered for 5 days at a shelter for homeless and disadvantaged boys in Peru. I primarily worked with another girl my age (20) with boys aged 11 to 13. Although we only got to see the boys a few hours a day after their schooling (from about 1:30 to 5), and although I only saw them from Monday through Friday of last week, I have discovered that I have gotten extremely attached. I feel weird. First of all, it was only a week, so how could I have gotten THAT attached? Two, I almost feel like going back and staying for a while (I got home yesterday if that matters at all), even though I live in Southern California and go to college in Arizona, where I am still only a rising junior. I realize that millions of people have volunteered for children and enjoyed it but I feel my positive experience has backfired on me personally. The best I could do is visit each summer, but how do I know that they'll even remember my name next year? They have limited computer resources at their shelter and obviously no cell phones, so keeping in touch would be a challenge. Most of these boys have either no families or crappy families, and I simply won't stand to be another person in their life who is letting them down. However short my visit was, I gave them just as positive of an experience as they gave me, and if I didn't come back, what kind of person would I be? Given all of this background information, I have a few questions, I guess. Am I normal for feeling so strongly for these boys? Should I go back for a few weeks every year, or cherish the good times that I had and move on with my life? Regardless...can someone help? lol :) Thanks.

Aw, that's sweet. I think you should keep in touch :) They need some care.
2 :
To answer your main questions directly and in order... 1) No, you are not "normal" for feeling so strongly, but that's a good thing. Most of us feel only a fleeting connection to such disadvantaged people before returning to our own priviledged lives, all but forgetting them. 2) Your obligation to return is a personal judgement, and the best advice anyone could probably offer is to listen to your heart. If it is within your means to return and you feel compelled to, you should go back, whether they remember you or not. If there are financial or interpersonal reasons why you shouldn't go back, or if you're doing it out of a sense of guilt (which I doubt, in your case it sounds like legitimate compassion) then you should probably not return. If you still want to help people, you can still do it closer to home, if you wish.
3 :
You found your God given talent and calling in life. No it is easy to get attached to kids who needed your help. You opened up your heart to them and they loved it. Now you can see what a rewarding work it is to help kids with less then you have had and to try to make a difference in their lives. This is what teachers go through too with each of their pupils. It is hard to not see them after seeing them everyday for a school season. I think your parents would be proud of you. You can go see them again if you like. They will not forget you and you might have made such a positive impact on their lives that later in life they will share about you to their kids. Congrats and God bless Good Samaritan :)
4 :
I think it's fine that you feel so connected. It may not be "natural" as already mentioned, but that doesn't mean it's wrong. And whether or not you go back is really your decision - no right or wrong answer. If a year from now you still want to go back, then i think you should try it. Until then you can just keep in touch through good old fashioned letters. I'm sure they would feel so happy to get a letter, cards and maybe pictures from you.

Corrupt Football: Do you think Peru will let Argentina win so they can qualify to the World Cup

Corrupt Football: Do you think Peru will let Argentina win so they can qualify to the World Cup?
I have a strong feeling there is a fraud being for Argentina being allowed to go to the World Cup. I mean T.V rating are going to be skyrocketing and people want to see where Lionel Messi is. Oh wait. He's not there because Argentina is eliminated. That means President Blatter is on the works of paying Peru to allow them to beat them and in that case, Argentina will be at the World Cup only because it "wouldn't be a World Cup without them" - Maradona. I don't want to make assumptions but I think Argentina is going to qualify only because FIFA would not want them not to qualify.

If they make it to the WC it would be on their own merits, they ought to beat Peru, even if Maradona can't coach himself out of a wet paper bag. They can qualify from the fifth spot as long as they win the playoff btwn. the #4 from CONCACAF region. Portugal and Crynardo are in a deeper pit, they may not make it to a playoff.

Well it has happened before. Go look up the 1978 WC Finals, where Peru lost 0-6 to Argentina. That result meant Argentina pipped Brazil on goal difference in order to qualify for the Final against Holland, which they won.

If I had a suspended license here in the U.S., but decided to go to Peru,(or,where ever) and became a citizen, would I be able to apply to get a drivers license, with out having to deal with all the hassle of having to get it re-invoked if I was to continue staying in the U.S.?

yes you would be able to get your license there without hassle regarding your US drivers license.
2 :
Yes you can get a license in a foreign country independent of your US license status. Yes you can get an international license good in most countries independent of your US license status. If I understand your question correctly, would that then give you a clear US license for use in the USA. Yes, and no. The international license would be generally honored if you are a foreign national in the USA, but may or may not be honored if you are living in the USA, depending on state and court should you be stopped. What works abroad is to always have an International license, and if stopped abroad and your license is taken, you lose nothing by the official taking it and can obtain another. To live in the USA you need a current address state license, the internatinal license or foreign license only allows you some wiggle room to tiddy up your papers upon return mostly on kindness of heart of the officials here in the USA.

What visa is needed for consultancy work in South America

What visa is needed for consultancy work in South America?
I’m going to be giving some sustainability consultancy in various South American countries from October for a 6-month period. I’m a UK citizen and I would be paid by a consultancy firm based in England. I would like to live in Peru but the work I do might be for any one of the surrounding countries, or many of them simultaneously (including Peru)….some of the work will be remote, i.e. over the internet. I’ll be taxed on my earnings based on the UK system, where I’m registered as a sole trader. My question is whether I will need some sort of working visa to carry out the work for the countries I offer assistance to? The work I do will be for public administrations but it isn’t clear how much there will be or who exactly I’ll be working for, specifically. Complicated!!!

Finding sponsors for an assessment trip to build a school in Peru

Finding sponsors for an assessment trip to build a school in Peru?
Along with a few colleagues, I am working to plan and fund an assessment trip to Peru. We're hoping to initiate global responsibility and make an impact in the future. However, in order to do anything we must go there an assess the situation. My current task is to research potential sponsors for the trip. I'm looking into Boston-based businesses but having difficulty because we are not an official organization yet. Does anyone have advice on where to begin?

It is illegal to solicit donations for personal use. Suggest you speak to a church and ask if they will sponsor you. Otherwise your only means of money if Family, friends and relatives. Businesses only donate to registered nonprofits otherwise there is no tax deduction

Yes, you'll need to get yourself identified with a non-profit organization and/or a church in order to receive donations. So first, here is everything you need to know on how to start your own charity: http://www.wikihow.com/Start-a-Charity http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/177005/how_to_start_a_charity_or_nonprofit.html http://www.charity.com/irscharityexemptions.shtml Once that's complete, then it's time for fund raising! Fundraising Ideas 1. Do a search online for free fund raising ideas, there thousands of them, pick the ones you can do quickly. (see below) 2. Post a blog entry about it. 3. Join some community and fund raising forums and website and post your message there. 4. Email your friends with the information and ask them to forward the email to others. 5. Post flyers with the information on bulletin boards and other charity sites. 6. As for companies, it depends on the type of work you are doing. Go for the big ones first, like Nike, Coke, Pepsi, etc, send them letters and ask for sponsorship, sometimes these companies just send out checks to folks! 7. Then go to local companies, meet the owners face to face and explain your need and how it will benefit the local community. Here are a few sites to get you in the mood for fund raising: http://www.fundraising.com/ http://www.fundraising-ideas.org/ http://www.campusfundraiser.com/makemoney.asp?source=overture&OVRAW=fundraiser%20ideas&OVKEY=fund%20raiser%20idea&OVMTC=standard http://www.chef-co.com/fundraiser-ideas.asp http://www.abcfundraising.com/fundraising/fundraiser-ideas.htm

Can somebody helps me in Peru

Can somebody helps me in Peru?
hi, my name is Javier and i am hoping to find somebody to help me. Well, it is about my son. i went to Peru last year in September and October and i met a girl by the name of Yenny, then when i came back to Italy, she and her family told me that she was pregnant by me....well, since then i have been helping her financially...until this last October,...the baby was born on July 14.......but now, it seems that she and her family dont want me to get involve, i stop sending them money on November ( altoghether i have sent them about 10 000 soles) since i knew she was pregnant until last November that i sent the last 100 Euros to la nanna, to Canete Peru. well, i dont know what to to. i dont know much about the peruvian law in Child law, etc... but, i feel that the babys mom and her family want to rip me off of all my rights, and also i think this is a bad thing for the baby, since i know that every child has the right to know about their parents...i wasnt be able to travel to Peru, because of immigration legal isues and work matters...since i am originally from Peru, and only work in Italy as a foreigner. Any sound advicing. Thanks a lot!! Javier Please i would appreciate any advice on what to do, or somebody that can help me out on this matter. Regards,

I think the first thing you should do is find out if the kid is yours. If you are a native from Peru then surely you know somebody or someone that can at least take a look at the kid and try to find any visual appearance that might relate to you. Of course a kid can not look like you and be yours but some resemblance should be there. If there isnt the slightest resemblance then figure out steps to make sure its yours. If you know for a fact the kid is yours then make an attempt to contact the mom, not necessarily with money but a letter or phone calls. Ultimately if the kid is that important to you then consider traveling to Peru because this would be your first priority. Your immigration status should come second, if you dont care about the kid then it seems pretty easy to just forget about him and go on about your business in Italy.
2 :
If you are not married, it's up to your girlfriend to declare the father of the baby. If she doesn't inscribe you, you would have to prove that the mother has asked you for support and request an ADN test. Once established as biological father you would have rights to make visits, you could demand her and ask from a judge to establish the visits. If they are mad at you, her family could easily beat you when you get there for leaving her pregnant plus you have abandoned her in that condition. However, not saying that this is the case, but also consider that some Peruvian girls do this to get money (as to have you sending money, or to get married to ensure alimony for life once divorced, to get to another country, or who knows). If you don't know her well enough, she may not be pregnant at all, her family may be performing advanced theater and perhaps she already lives with the next victim, so she wants you to stop contacting her. You could hire a private detective to get more information.
3 :
I agree with Igor, nobody asks for money and then stops for no reason. Try to contact a lawyer or private investigator to check out at the MUNICIPALIDAD of CAÑETE for a birth certificate of the child, to see if there is one on her name and who is registered as the father. I know this girl who already has 2 children with 2 guys (one is a Narco in jail) and she has an Italian Fiance who is foolish enough to pay her bills, plastic surgery and many love trips to Iquitos, Morroco, Spain (she can't go to Italy because they don't give her a visa). And while she's not with him she contacted an American also on the internet (always older guys) and almost married this guy while conning the Italian dude! She bought her wedding dress and reservation at the ROSA NAUTICA with the Italian's money, but the "Gringo" didn't fall for her and brokeup. So now she is Monogamist again.

If you want to learn working from home, be your own boss and earn good income while doing it, the best option to do it is taking up affiliate marketing courses. It is not easy at first, but once you get a hand of it, you will see how effective it is. The best affiliate marketing courses are available at - http://offto.net/joinwa and if you believe that it is a ripoff, then I would deeply advise you taking a look at this site - http://www.squidoo.com/earnonnet

I've been doing some work with www.elance.com the past week, all the work is home based, data entry, transcription etc. The only thing is you're competing against people from countries where the hourly rate of pay is a lot lower, so not sure if it would be worth it for you. Also have a look at the jobs listed here, most are applicable to us,canada, europe, its quite good, thats where I found the above link. http://freelance-data-entry.blogspot.com/ Its been updated today to include some Craft type jobs which can be done from home, mainly re-distribution, but it possible to make good money from it if you work hard. So many online jobs are out there. In fact, to do any online job, you need not want to invest anything. Make sure, you dont pay anything to get jobs online. It is just that need to pick the one that suits you the best. I hope this helps you and I believe you will find the online job that you love the most. i m pretty sure you have to go to an embassy and get a visa, then go. I don;t think it should matter in which country you are getting the visa as long as it's by the Indian government, but i don't think you can fly in without a visa. You could find an Indian Embassy america go to their website, call then and ask them about the rules sorry i am not of any more help.

How much money would I need to live in Lima, Peru and not have to worry about working

How much money would I need to live in Lima, Peru and not have to worry about working?
I think one dollar equals to 3 peruvian dollars. But what is the cost of living? If I wanted to buy a nice house and retire there, how much U.S. dollars would I need? I like Lima Peru. Also as I side note, I'm 26 years old I do have a college degree in business administration and I'm coversational in the spanish language, but not an expert. Can I move and work there? I visited peru and just loved it! I am Greek, but, I was born in the U.S. Are there any american companies in Peru I could work for? Like banks or somewhere? But remember again, I'm not an expert in the spanish language, just moderate/conversational. I obviously prefer someone answer my question who has lived in peru or know the country pretty well. Thank you!

I have never lived in Peru. But I have been there 4 times.. and my friend is now a missionary there... she has been for the past 2 years.. also, next year I am going down to help start an orphanage... I love it there too! :) It really depends on where you want to live... If you want to live in Mira Flores then yes.. things are going to be very comparable to the states... but if you want to live in San Luis or San Borja than things are going to be pretty cheap. But if you are looking into buying a house then you are going to want it to be somewhere safe, aka, more expensive... My friend lives in Lima, she rents a section of a house from a family. The church supports her with about $500 a month... doesn't seem like a whole lot to us.. But it is down there! Sorry I can't give you definite answers. But it's something! Ps. There are websites that you can search for houses for sale down there... but I honestly wouldn't trust something like that... One of those things where you have to 'try it and find out.' Good luck!

Why does democracy not work in many countries such as Thailand and others

Why does democracy not work in many countries such as Thailand and others?
First of all, I am from a country always having political problem. Elected governments often (if not always) corrupt or govern in the way to benefit themselves over the nation or people. Politicians likely go for their own benefit and hardly represent people needs as they are supposed. People of Thailand, Philippines, Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, etc have to protest, set up a mob, etc to request or send a message of what they really need instead of doing that through their representatives. Why does democracy seem to work well in Europe and North America, but not in the rest of the world? What is missing in those systems? Do they have less good politicians? Is it their culture? Aren't people aware of their roles and rights? Don't they have enough education? What is wrong with their systems? How can we fix them?
Politics - 10 Answers

1 :
if democracy doesn't work it is because the nations people aren't ready for it yet..
2 :
something called imperialism
3 :
It is entirely cultural.
4 :
true democracy can seldom thrive in an atmosphere of extremely divided wealth...extreme poverty vs. extreme wealth...these conditions often exist in those nations.
5 :
"Is it their culture?" Yes, I think that is exactly what it is.
6 :
Democracy is based in the rights and needs of the individual. The legitimacy of the regime derives from respect of the majority. In societies dominated by communal, tribal, or familial concerns, democracy will of necessity not operate well because the individual is not free to express themselves to the detriment of larger groups. Those societies also tend to be paternalistic, and so if someone in a position of power thinks that the people are making the wrong decision there isn't respect for the will of the people to prevent that powerful person from simply sweeping the elected government aside.
7 :
It's culture. Don't fool yourself into thinking democracy is without corruption. We're up to our necks in it.
8 :
If you look at the headlines in America, you'd think democracy doesn't always work here neither. We have greedy politicians and lawmakers who are only concerned with there own pocket books. Some governments fear democracy and fear the control they'll lose over the population if they allow everyone freedoms. Take communism for instance. Everyone has to follow the same road and nobody is allowed to express an opinion. Government is supposed to be for the people. But, it seems like around the world the Government is turning into classifying the body of population into two classes. Upper class and Lower Class. No governments want to see a middle class prevail. Again that points to nothing but self GREED.
9 :
Some of those problems you mention do, unfortunately, apply to some extent to politicians in both America and Europe as well. Certainly culture is a factor. And other past experiences. Certainly democracy works best in a population with a large middle class. I think what we sometimes forget is that democracy, as we now know it, has EVOLVED basically since the signing of the Magna Carta in 1215, nearly 800 years ago. I think we do a disservice when we expect nations/cultures to quickly form a democracy similar to our own when the actual development of our own system has, in fact, been very long and, at times, very difficult.
10 :
Why do we have to fix them? They dont work because they are savages.

How do dry and wet seasons work

How do dry and wet seasons work?
I'm from New York, USA, so I'm wondering how dry and wet seasons work. I think it has something to do with high and low pressure and clouds and all, but I was wondering if anybody could tell me what happens, say in Cuzco, Peru that causes them to have wet and dry seasons. Thanks!
Earth Sciences & Geology - 1 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
It odes have to do high and low pressure In many tropical regions, there is a an area called the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) which is an area of low pressure where the sun is directly (or almost directly) overhead, to the north and south are areas of high pressure called the doldrums. The ITCZ, being low pressure causes air to rise and create clouds and heavy rains. The Doldrums being areas of high pressure causes air to sink and this discourages cloud formation and precipitation. In areas with both wet and dry seasons, for part of the year they have the ITCZ and the other part of the year they have the doldrums influencing the climate.

Paperwork you need to do to get married in Peru: Single hood certificate Birth certificate Both for international use. Take them to the Peruvian consulate or Embassy of your area (by post works also) to get them verified. Your fiance can manage the rest in Lima. Verification of signatures in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Lima) If translation necessary also verification of the signature of the translator. (must be a Ministry's approved translator) Then later in Lima you will need to pass a medical test and that's all what is needed from your side.

What are the safest places in Peru to live in, for a Single Female

What are the safest places in Peru to live in, for a Single Female?
And why that "city" or "cities"? Also, to live in Peru as an American Citizen, will you need a work visa to stay there legally? I know when you get there, you are given a 90 day Visa, but what happens after that if you want to stay longer, what do you have to do? I should add also, that I am looking for apartments that are close, within walking distance to shops, etc. Because I will not have a car when I get out there. So that is very important to me as well.

IMO, females get robbed much more often than males. In Lima, some relatively safe districts that I can think about are San Isidro, Miraflores, La Molina. About the cities in provinces, small cities are generally safe. In big cities, upper class districts are generally safer than middle or lower class ones. And by night is more dangerous than by day. You need to be a resident to work legally in Peru. After the 90 days period, you can get another 60 days and then 30 days more. After that, you have to leave. To get the resident immigrant status is not that easy, but less formal companies may hire you anyway. If you don't obtain the resident status after the initial 6 months period, I would suggest to travel aboard. Staying as illegal may bring complications that are expensive and very complicated to solve. For instance, you won't even be able to leave Peru until you pay the fines. So, being in some place near the border may be a good idea as you could travel aboard spending less. That could be for example Cusco or Arequipa in the south or perhaps Mancora, Piura and Chiclayo in the north. In a bigger city, without a car you will be more exposed to get robbed. But well, you could probably get robbed in the US too. Anyway, car break-ins are very frequent. But be aware who's gonna be your friend.
2 :
We have to assume that besides the place being safe you want it to be a complete city. Iquitos is, for example, a (relatively) safe place to live in but it is an isolated small city with limited services. In other words, you may be asking for a safe place in Lima. The best place for you to live in Lima may be Miraflores. It is not only relatively safe but you can find apartments close to shops and anything you need. There are also many foreign people living there.
3 :
I used to live both in Lima and Huaraz Peru and for a "single" woman to move to a city in Peru I would have to say that Huaraz is your best bet.. about an hours plane ride from Lima and its nestled in a valley between some mountains, near some villages. I thought it was an amazing place. The people were so much nicer than in the big city of Lima and very welcoming.. I don't think there is as much crime, but you would have to be in a good neighborhood.. I still have some friends that live there and have a gorgeous house right in the city.. they have people stay there all the time (they are missionaries) anyways, awesome city, lots to do, good food, great people :)

The best place for you is Miraflores.

Anyone used Idealist.org for volunteering or an internship

Anyone used Idealist.org for volunteering or an internship?
I love Idealist.org for its plentiful international opportunities and am seriously considering applying to do some volunteer work abroad next year. For example, working with orphan children in Peru is one volunteer listing I'm interested in. Has anyone had a personal experience using Idealist.org for this purpose? Specifically, what to look for when choosing a listing? What additional questions to ask? How to make sure you get this exact experience you're signing up for?

I haven't used idealist for that, although I've applied for a few jobs that way. Watch internship descriptions. The smaller and more frantic the organization is for help, often the less time they've had for working out exactly what they need, who they need and what they can provide. That doesn't make new, small groups bad; just raw. If you need lots of structure, either for yourself or as a resume/job boost, I'd go with a well-established group that's very specific. Absolutely ask to talk to others who've been interns. Once you've drained them dry, including asking, "What else can you tell me that I didn't think to ask?" and "What surprised you the most?" ask them for contact information for an intern or worker who had a tough experience. If you're going to another country, you want to be prepared for everything.

She should contact with the nearest american embassy for information and request a working visa or green card. If things are so bad where she lives I think she could actually come here as an assilee.
3 :
you can message about this. I just did something like that for my cousin. Send me an email

My wife is going on vacation in Peru with a girlfriend from work..

My wife is going on vacation in Peru with a girlfriend from work...?
without me of course. For two weeks. From May 18-June 1. I understand that her co-worker is going (she's actually from there) to spend her child's birthday with her (turning 9 I believe). My birthday also falls within this time frame. I am utterly furious that my spouse seems so adamant about going without any regards to how I feel. I wasn't invited and this isn't a trip with her family. I'm actually thinking of telling her that if she goes I won't be here if & when she comes back. She spends TOO much time with this friend and has recently taken a 4-day trip to northern California with her as well. She claims I don't like going places but I don't have a job that allows spontaneous trips and I can't go during school months (I'm trying get my BA). I'm tired of her ALWAYS placing her friends and family first & expecting me to be ok with it.

I don't know the answer, but I do know that you shouldn't make a promise you won't keep. Don't threaten to leave unless you plan on really doing it. That only makes things worse.
2 :
Talk to her about all of this. Maybe she would prefer to be single and play with this friend instead of being married. If she doesn't have a job, I think it's time for her to get a career and quit playing.
3 :
While she is gone, change all the lock sin the house, send her stuff to storage and get rid of her A&*&SS.........!
4 :
Dude, I think your wife is bisexual. Sorry

I think she might be taking advantage of your lack of ability to go places, and since you can't go anywhere with her, she might be trying to get out. While it's not fair to her to expect her to stay with you all the time when you can go anywhere else, it's fair for her to expect you to be fine with her leaving you with other people all the time either. Maybe you should try to take a break from your job and go on a small trip with her. You might think she's being insensitive to you, but it POSSIBLY can be that you're being insensitive to her, because she might be hurt that you can't spend a lot of time with her. I don't know the details, I'm just laying out possibilities.

Sounds like she is very self centered and selfish, sorry to say. You two need to talk about this situation. All you can do. Good Luck!
7 :
She is not being understanding of your feelings at all and that is a BIG problem for your marriage. You should put your foot down so she'll know how serious you are about this. Personally, from the information that you have given, I think that she is extremely selfish.

Get rid of her then. You're not a priority. My gf is the same way, she loves to travel and I don't really care to, plus my job doesn't allow random getaways whenever I feel like it. She most of the time will travel with a friend, her mom, cousin, etc. That's fine with me. If I can't or won't go, she should go then. But I do make the effort to travel with her at times as to keep her happy. However, she would never plan a trip during my birthday, that's just F'd up. Especially since it's only a pleasure and not a business trip. So, get rid of her or have a talk with her. But just don't blow up on her and tell her when she comes back you won't be there, that won't work. Calmly discuss your concerns with her.
9 :
tell her how you feel. I've been through a similar situation ...my ex was selfish like that. all I can say is I warned her......ended up sleeping with two of her friends and a broad I met at a party in that week she was gone. I tried to warn her, but she didn't listen man. you don't leave your man at home alone for a week ladies..wake up.

Well if she JUST went on vacation then I would be a little annoyed too that she is going again, and on your birthday no less. My hubby hates to fly so I am planning a trip to Paris next year with two girlfriends but he is totally cool with it. Thats the difference. If you are not you need to say so. But don't tie her down if you are the homebody type. She shouldn't have to sit there with you and be bored to death just because you dont want to go places. Now, if that is not the case, tell her to stay her a** home and celebrate your birthday. Why is she so gung ho to be with her friend on the childs birthday? Thats weird. Thats family time...she should stay home. And thats a LONG time to be away too. I could see if it was a weekend thing. Damn

Honestly, if you can't go I don't see the big deal. Peru would be exciting and I personally would go. It's only two weeks, how insecure does someone have to be to try and control their spouse when you know for a fact the trip is with a female friend and not a possible lover? I would use the time she is away to have time alone to yourself, chill out at a coffee shop, do things that you wouldnt normally have time to do if you werent alone. :)

Take a nice long weekend with a good looking girl and relax with her. Or, if that isn't in the cards, get a hooker. Life is too short to have your nuts cut off.
